The driver runs the SparkSession, builds and optimizes the plan, and schedules tasks on executors. Executors run the tasks; the cluster manager only allocates resources.

createOrReplaceTempView registers a session-scoped view. saveAsTable writes a persistent table, which also works but stores data; the other two don't register the DataFrame.

The default save mode is "error" (errorifexists). Use mode("append"), "overwrite" or "ignore" for the other behaviours.
